Thirty Years in Practice

Thirty years today since I was admitted to the Roll of the Supreme Court and admission to practice. The journey after Articles was as a solicitor in regional Queensland, Cairns, Mareeba and Toowoomba before returning to Brisbane and In-House counsel at WorkCover Queensland. Since 2009, the private bar as a barrister.

I’m indebted to the late Robin Smith, my mentor since Cairns. Robin was a truly remarkable person and solicitor. Gifted musician, handy mechanic, butcher, botanist, caver, but above all, devoted husband, father and transparent Christian.

I’ve shared the journey with my good friend Andrew Hall, who will also be marking 30 years of practice and to whom I am grateful for his steadfast friendship, wise counsel, and many others. The journey continues.
